Pizza Wii Night

Und weiter geht’s mit den Eindrücken der Pizza-Wii-Night, zu der uns Georg und Verena freundlicherweise letztes Wochenende eingeladen hatten. Zuerst wurde ein wenig gekocht, wobei es sich die Herrin des Hauses nicht nehmen ließ den Großteil der Arbeit zu übernehmen, und anschließend noch die neu erworbenen Wii Motion Plus Sensoren ausführlich zusammen mit Wii Sports Resort getestet. Für 50% der Anwesenden wurde es auch noch zu einem recht langen und sehr lustigen Abend, während die besseren Hälften die Qualität der Couch testeten.

Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend und die leckere Pizza, ich freue mich schon sehr aufs nächste Mal!

Weiter ging es am Tag nach dem Besuch am Prebersee mit einem langen Spaziergang ins Weißpriachtal. Das Wetter war mittelmäßig, aber ein paar wenige Fotos konnten dennoch gemacht werden.

Sommerrodelbahn Nockyflitzer

Am nächsten Tag folgte dann ein Ausflug mit dem Auto auf die Turracher Höhe (Grenze Steiermark/Kärnten), wo es eine ganzjährig geöffnete Rodelbahn gibt, den sogenannten Nockyflitzer. Nach mehrmaliger Fahrt spazierten wir dann noch um den großen See und stärkten uns anschließend vor Ort. Leicht angebraten von der Sonne ging es dann wieder zurück in den Lungau.

Leider habe ich vergessen die EOS zu laden, deshalb nur Bilder der ersten Stunde :/

Pokerabend mit Verpflegung

Ja, eigentlich sollte ich den letzten Freitag angesichts der Arbeit seitens Buchi mit mehr als nur einem kurzen Statement hier auf dem Blog würdigen. Es war wie ich finde ein sehr gelungener und lustiger Abend, die kalten Köstlichkeiten schmeckten auch alle sehr gut, und bis auf das Ergebnis beim Kartenspielen bin ich auch zufrieden heimgefahren. Danke, die dazu passenden Photos sind auf flickr zu finden (Integration hier ist noch zu unausgereift). Comments welcome!

Speicherplatz wird eng

Da es langsam aber sicher eng wird mit dem Speicherplatz auf dem Webspace (Auslastung 99.2%) werde ich bald einige ältere Alben aus der Gallery entfernen. Wer sich also noch Fotos sichern möchte sollte dies möglichst bald erledigen. Selbstverständlich kann ich auf Anfrage auch gerne später dann ganze Alben zippen und jemandem zukommen lassen, zu diesem Zweck werde ich Platzhalter in der Photogallerie stehen lassen.

so, endlich hab ich’s geschafft und zwei noch ausstehende alben in die gallery geladen. zum einen waren da noch die fotos vom (vorletzten) kochen bei georg und verena in freistadt mit anschließendem wii spielen. zu essen gab’s übrigens schweinefilet (als lungenbraten getarnt) umwickelt von spinat, schinken, etwas käse und natürlich blätterteig. dazu gab’s geröstetes gemüse und salat. sofern ich mich erinnern kann hat es allen ganz gut geschmeckt :)

weiters gibt’s nun auch die fotos von lenes sponsion in linz online, aufgrund der etwas unglücklichen position (hinterm beamer) hat es mit dem focus nicht immer ganz hingehauen, da ich aber ohnehin nur wenige bilder gemacht habe (was interessieren mich die ganzen anderen? :) ) sind auch diese in der gallery zu finden.

welcome back into yet another busy week. having spent a nice weekend with various friends here in hagenberg, i’m back at my office working. weather is just soo awful today, cold, rainy and stormy – a terrible combination, even for me where i normally like freezy conditions.
on saturday evening we’ve (nearly) all been at the annual “FH Ball” at the Schloß Hagenberg, it was really fun but unfortunately i got tired pretty early (speaking of around 2am). the good thing is though, that i at least remember the whole evening, which certain people can’t say :)4935

Bienvenido a Miami

… one of the sentences which felt quiet often the last couple of days. yes, i’m back from florida … and it was just awesome! once again we started in the early hours of saturday (4am). i had to pick up deniz, evrim and ozgur (all 3 from turkey) at their apartment in plainsboro before we drove to newark airport where our plane left at 6:30. this time i decided not to sleep the hours before, which was quiet a good decision i still think.

after the 3 hour flight with continental we arrived at west palm beach international airport. unfortunatly the weather was not too good, with lots of wind and some rain – but this should change soon. we rented a car (Pontiac Grand Prix) at National and drove directly to South Beach Miami, where our hotel was located. yepp, this time a cheap hotel and not a hostel like in Boston (*brrr*). of course we went directly to the beach, as our time was short anyway and we couldn’t wait for the wind to stop. the water was really warm and we had a lot of fun till evening.
afterwards we went home for refreshment and changing clothes before we went to dinner and spent the night in the city. nightlife in miami is really great and we all enjoyed it.

after some few hours of sleep we drove on the next day to the very southern part of the states, Key West. the trip took us about 4hours and it was interesting to go from one island to the next one on our way there. After checking in we again went to the beach, watched the (famous) sunset and went out.

on our third and last day we went again for a short stop to ocean-drive at miami before we finally returned to the airport where we landed. the plane had 1 hour of delay but luckily one of the stewards was from turkey and made our stay in the economy class ‘more comfortable than usual’ :-)

to sum up: it was a lovely, sunny weekend – a bit expensive but maybe a once in a lifetime chance to go there.
the pictures are online, this time with a lot of snapshots from the nightlife, cause that’s what florida is famous for :)

Boston

well, finally i find some time to write at least some travel information about my trip to boston last weekend. as some of you probably already might have seen i uploaded the pictures i took with my lovely EOS Digital Rebel XTi (still unexperienced in using it though). i devided the album into three subparts, one for each day – just to make them a bit more organized. most likely there will be more images to come as soon as i get them from other travel-participants.

where to start? hm, …. we started on saturday at 4:30am from siemens parking lot with 3 cars and 11 persons (including myself). after about 4 hours we arrived at our first stop, a little historian(?) village which shows living in amerika around 1800. we spent there about 4 hours (and 20$) until we continued driving to boston (one more hour from there). after parking our car near the hostel we booked (which btw. was the most disgusting room i visited _ever_ (and gabriele/lene know what that means (hint: spain))) ….uhm, … we went directly to Harvard University where we spent the evening with classic sightseeing and so on. the campus of Harvard is really nice and i enjoyed the warm evening-hours there. nevertheless i resisted buying a shirt/sweater there – mostly due to missing financial capabilities :D . at night we all went to a nice bar near our hostel, unfortunatly all bars and clubs are closing at 2am – stupid *$%”§).

the next day we’ve been to boston downtown where we did the “freedom trail” – like 95% of the tourists who visit this city (yepp, we are that predictable). after dinner and some few hours of nightlife we got up again early on monday, been to MIT (boring to be honest) and the harbor of boston. at 6pm we finally sat again in our cars and started our drive back to princeton (took about 6hours with breaks) – at 1.30am i felt into my bed at home. summing up it was a nice, interesting but also exhausting trip. in enjoyed it. ah yeah, and the person you see on two out of three images in various positions is christoph, the austrian support i have here in the states. somehow he always got his head into my focused objects :)

so, in 10min i start my journey to florida – haha. hopefully the weather will get a bit better than the forecast is at the moment but i’m pretty sure anyway that we will have a lot of fun. btw: this post is powered by caffeine and red bull :)
